1971 Gene Hackman appeared as Detective Jimmy 'Popeye' Doyle in crime thriller The French Connection.
A particularly vicious foot chase through the grimy streets of New York sees Doyle in a filthy Santa's outfit. The tatty fake beard matted and grubby flapping.
I seem to remember Doyle in his Santa outfit and his colleague shoeing a suspect on the pavement ...vivid imagery ...but a cinema classic non the less.
The French Connection was directed by William Friedkin. A highlight in Friedkin's career ...he later went on to direct a real stinker called 'Deal of the Century' starring a miscast Chevy Chase and Sigourney Weaver.
Merry Christmas Popeye
We are proud to present this beautifully soft light weight AS Colour® 100% organic combed cotton tee ...it's wonderfully comfy with a great modern cut. The tee has an excellent shape and boasts a tough double needle bottom hem & sleeves. At 150gsm the tee is not too heavy and not too light it's bang on.
Importantly the pure cotton is pre-shrunk to minimise shrinkage. Just chuck it in the wash and let the machine do the work!
